exploiting more advanced chip manufacturing processes, such as copper
technology. The first POWER3 based system, RS/6000 43P 7043 Model 260,
runs at 200 MHz.
Features of the POWER3, exceeding its predecessor (P2SC), include:
• A second load-store unit
• Improved memory access speed
• Speculative execution
