Elapsed Recording Time Indication

Set the counter display.

Press – –:– – so that a counter reading appears on the TV
screen and the front display panel.

● The front display panel shows

the counter reading with “:”
lit.

Reset the counter.

Press 0000 before starting recording or playback.

● The counter is reset to “0:00:00” and shows the exact elapsed

time as the tape runs. You can check the exact time of a
recording or playback.

Tape Remaining Time

Press MODE.

● The current tape remaining time and the current recording

speed alternate in the front display panel. You can also confirm
the information on the TV screen. (

NOTE:

Depending on the type of tape being used, the tape remaining
time reading may not appear right away, or is not correct.
“– –:– –” may sometimes appear, or the display may blink on
occasion.

Super VHS ET (S-VHS ET)
— Recording on VHS cassettes with
S-VHS quality

You can record in SP mode on VHS cassettes with S-VHS picture
quality. Set “S-VHS ET“ to the desired mode (
