6-5 Power

Supply

The SuperServer 6015B-T+/6015B-8+ has a single 700 watt power supply, which

is auto-switching capable. This enables it to automatically sense and operate at a

100v to 240v input voltage. An amber light will be illuminated on the power supply

when the power is off. An illuminated green light indicates that the power supply

is operating.

Power Supply Failure

If the power supply unit fails, the system will shut down and you will need to replace

the unit. Replacement units can be ordered directly from Supermicro (see contact

information in the Preface). As there is only one power supply unit in the 6015B-

T+/6015B-8+, power must be completely removed from the server before removing

and replacing the power supply unit for whatever reason.

Removing/Replacing the Power Supply

1. Removing the power supply

First unplug the power cord from the failed power supply module. To remove

the failed power module, fi rst locate the colored release tab on the back of the

module. Push the tab to the right and then pull the module straight out with the

handle provided (see Figure 6-6). The power supply wiring was designed to detach

automatically when the module is pulled from the chassis.

2. Installing a new power supply

Replace the failed power module with another PWS-0065 power supply module.

Simply push the new power supply module into the power bay until you hear a click.

Finish by plugging the AC power cord back into the module.
