Ensure that you can access the new flash image on the client machine that you are
using to update the service processor, for instance, copy the image onto your client
machine's disk.

Before upgrading the firmware, ensure that the server is powered down gracefully
before entering Upgrade mode.

Note –

The session time-out should be set to a minimum of three hours because the

upgrade procedure usually takes 20 minutes to 30 minutes and the default session
time-out is 15 minutes. Setting the minimum to three hours ensures that any
interruption in the upgrade process would cause a time-out in the upgrade.

9.1.2

What to Do

Caution –

The firmware upgrade process is a crucial operation. Ensure that the

chances of a power or connectivity loss are minimal when performing this operation.

1. From the Maintenance tab, choose Firmware Upgrade.

The Upgrade the Firmware page appears.

Caution –

Caution - Do not close the ILOM web GUI using the Log Out button in

the web browser when the service processor is in Upgrade mode. Only use the
Cancel button that appears in the ILOM web GUI.
