Playing the VG-88

Now let’s actually play the VG-88.

1.

Make sure that you are in Play page.

If you are not in Play page, press [EXIT] several times.

Set the select switch of the GK-2A/GK-3 to “MIX.”

Turn the VG-88’s [OUTPUT LEVEL].

* The VG-88’s EXP pedal, or the GK-2A’s SYNTH VOL knob

are set to “MASTER LEVEL,” operate the EXP pedal or
SYNTH VOL knob.

4.

Play your guitar.

The VG-88 will sound using the currently selected patch.

Changing sounds (patches)

How patch numbers are organized

In Play page, patch numbers (bank, number) and patch
names are displayed as follows.

There are two types of patches: user patches and preset
patches.

User patches

When the VG-88 is shipped from the factory, it contains 100
user patches. You are free to modify, delete, or create these
anew.

Preset patches

The VG-88 contains 160 preset patches.

Preset patches can be edited — i.e., you can modify their
settings — but cannot be saved again as presets. If you wish
to save a modified preset patch, you must store it as a new
user patch.

What is Patches?

The VG-88 contains 260 different sounds. Each of these is
called a patch.
