Chapter 6 Web-Based Management
This section introduces the configuration and functions of the Web-Based management.
6.1 About Web-based Management
There is an embedded HTML web server residing in flash memory in the switch. This
offers advanced management features and allows users to manage the switch from
anywhere on the network through a standard web browser such as Microsoft Internet
Explorer.
The Web-Based Management supports Internet Explorer 6.0 or later version. It
incorporates Java Applets for reducing network bandwidth consumption, enhancing
access speed and presenting an easy viewing screen.
6.2 Preparing for Web Management
Before using web management, install the industrial switch on the network and make
sure that at least one of the PCs on the network can connect with the industrial switch
through the web browser. The industrial switch default IP Address, Subnet Mask,
Gateway, username and password are the following:
„ IP Address: 192.168.1.77
„ Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
„ Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254
„ User Name: root
„ Password: root
