Reception of documents

If the line is reserved exclusively for fax
operation.

Set standby mode

If your fax machine is connected to the
PSTN or the PABX, there are four different
ways of receiving documents.

The fax machine switches over to
reception as soon as the line rings (

see

page

25

).

The fax machine is always
activated, even if the call is
initiated by a voice partner.

Reception of documents

If the line is used primarily for telephone traffic

Manual reception

Press the AUTO key.

The call must be accepted manually; the
fax machine is not activated when the
line rings. If you wish to transmit a
document, you must press the START key
of the fax machine.

Ensure that any fax calls can
indeed be accepted; it is always
necessary to press the START
key.

Setting of automatic reception

Press the AUTO key.

The standby mode is indicated with the AUTO
LED. Press the AUTO key to change between
two different reception modes (these are
indicated by the AUTO LED):

LED “AUTO” is lit

LED “AUTO” off
