Manually Configuring an IP Address

If you do not configure the management of the IP address configuration in your
network via the DHCP server of the OpenCom 1000 communications system, you
can also conduct IP address configuration manually:

1. If the telephone is not in operation, turn on the power supply. Wait until the

Aastra 6739i has started. Press the Options key

now.

Note

If the Aastra 6739i has already been configured by a communications system via
DHCP and TFTP, restore the factory settings first (please refer to Restoring Factory
Settings starting on page 28).

The Options list menu card appears.

2. Press the Advanced softkey.

The display shows Enter Administrator Password.

3. Enter the administrator password with the number keys (please refer to

Aastra 6739i Passwords on page 30). Confirm using the Enter softkey.

The Advanced menu card appears.

4. Press the Cfg. Svr. softkey.

The Cfg. Svr. menu card appears.

5. Select the Download Protocol -> TFTP setting.

6. Press the softkey for the TFTP protocol.

7. Under TFTP Server enter the IP address of the TFTP configuration server.

Confirm using the Enter softkey. Under TFTP Path enter “/ram/aastra_sip”.
Confirm using the Enter softkey.

Note

The OpenCom 1000 communications system provides a TFTP
server for configuring Aastra 6739i telephones. You can
determine the IP address of this server in the OCE. In the
Network directory select the Connections page. Find the
connection used for the Aastra 6739i. The IP address for the
connection entry that you are looking for appears in the
TFTP Server column.
