With the rear sway bar out of the way you can remove the stock frame brackets. Use a 10mm
wrench or socket to remove the retaining nut holding the plastic shield over the gas fill pipe on
the passenger side. Gently pull the plastic cover out of the way for access the to the forward
bracket bolt. Use a 12mm wrench or socket to remove the bolts holding the frame brackets.

You will need a 13mm swivel socket and extension to remove the front bracket bolt on the passenger

side

. This bolt is difficult to reach, but we do not recommend prying the gas lines out of the way

for safety reasons! You may discard the stock mounting hardware and brackets.

5)

With both stock brackets removed you are ready to install the Hotchkis brackets. The bracket on
the passenger side can be installed with the lip of the charcoal canister under the bracket
instead of on top of the flange. Use the new flange head bolts from the 1737 hardware kit
included to bolt the brackets to the frame
. You will have to hand-start the front bolt on the
passenger side
. Use a 12mm socket or wrench to torque the bracket bolts to 30ft/lbs.
