Chapter 7: Roof Assembly

Attaching the Roof Panels

Roof panels overlap the previous roof panel, giving protection from outside elements.

Before You Begin

Ensure all A-frame roof rafter assemblies are installed, and ensure all intermediate purlins are installed
and properly tightened. Predetermine the manway access location.

What You Should Know

All lower roof panels will be installed onto roof first, all middle roof panels will be installed next after all the
lower roof panels are in place and all the upper roof panels will be installed last after the lower and middle
roof rafters are assembled onto the roof. After all roof panels are installed, ensure that all installed hard-
ware (flange bolts with sealing washers and flange nuts) are tightened to secure the roof panels.

1. With assistance, position a lower roof panel (A) onto the first rafter in any A-frame.

IMPORTANT: Ensure the lower roof panel is positioned onto the rafter as shown. Make sure that the

distance is measured at the top portion of the lower roof panel (between the rafter flat
face and the rib starting position underneath the lower panel).

2. Install five flange bolts (D) and five flange nuts (E) into the lower portion of the lower roof panel secur-

ing the lower roof panel to the eave angle.
