4.5.5.1 3.5” Disk Drive in a 5.25” Slot
With the use of IEI’s 3.5” to 5.25” drive adapter bracket, a standard 3.5” disk drive can be
installed into a 5.25” drive bay slot. To install a 3.5” hard disk drive into a 5.25” slot of the
drive bracket, follow the instructions below.
Slide a 3.5” disk drive into a 3.5” to 5.25” drive adapter bracket. Make sure the
IDE/SATA connector and the power connectors of the drive are facing the rear of
the rack.
Insert the appropriate number of retention screws into each side of the 3.5” disk
drive through the 3.5” to 5.25” drive adapter bracket (Figure 4-9).
Remove the drive bracket from the RPC-6022GW Rackmount LCD Workstation
(see Section 4.5.3).
Remove the appropriate drive slot blank plate (see Section 4.5.4).
Slide the 3.5” disk drive into 3.5” to 5.25” drive adapter bracket. Make sure the
IDE/SATA connector and the power connector of the drive are facing the rear of
the bracket.
Insert the appropriate number of retention screws into each side of the 3.5” to
5.25” drive adapter bracket through the drive bracket (Figure 4-9).
Insert the 3.5” to 5.25” drive adapter bracket with the attached 3.5” disk drive
into the drive bracket. Secure the drive adapter bracket with the required
number of screws.
Reinstall the drive bracket into the chassis (Section 4.5.6). Step 0:
