Observing change in weight (TARE)

The Tare function is very useful if the scale is to be used during a dialysis treatment. Pa-
tient weight can be tared away – the difference in weight then appears as a positive or

negative value in the display.
– Press the green Start key.

and

0.0

appear consec-

utively in the display. The scale is then

automatically set to zero and ready for

operation.

– Get the patient into bed. The patient’s

weight appears in the display.

– In order to tare the patient’s weight

away, activate the Tare function by

pressing the

TARE key.

The display is reset to zero.

0.0

appears in

the display. The note “NET” appears.
The scale determines the difference in

weight and a positive or negative value ap-
pears in the display.
The Tare function can be turned off again

by pressing the

TARE key again. The Tare

memory is erased and the current weight

appears in the display.

Note:

If the scale is switched on when the patient is already in bed,

0.0

appears in the

display. A slow continuous change in weight, such as typically occurs during di-
alysis, can be recorded from the

0.0

display only in the above-described Tare

mode. However, the Tare function can be activated only when the display is

not

0.0

.

A small trick overcomes this. Adding another load, e.g. a pillow, changes the dis-
play and the Tare function can be activated.

Tip:

It makes sense to combine this function with the limit value function (see section

entitled "Bottom limit value" on page 31).
