Item

The status of the volume:

Normal: The volume is in a normal status.

Blocked: The volume is in a blocked status. Hosts cannot access the blocked volume.

Warning: The volume has a problem.

Format: The volume is being formatted.

Preparing Quick Format: The volume is being prepared for Quick Format.

Normal (Quick Format): Quick Format is being executed on the volume.

Correction Access: The access attribute of the volume is being changed.

Copying: Data in the volume is being copied.

Read Only: Hosts can only read the volume. Hosts cannot write any data to a volume
that is in Read Only status.

Shredding: The shredding operation is in progress.

Unknown: The system does not recognize the status of the volume.

Status

The attribute of the volume:

Pool (pool-id): The volume is a pool volume (pool-VOL). The pool ID is enclosed by
parentheses.

JNL-VOL: The volume is a journal volume.

Volume Security: The volume is a Volume Security volume.

Remote Command Device: The volume is a remote command device.

System Disk: The volume is used for a system disk.

Reserved Volume: The volume is reserved for XP Auto LUN. For more information on XP
Auto LUN, see the HP StorageWorks XP24000/XP20000 Auto LUN Software User Guide.

Quorum Disk: The volume is used for a quorum disk.

- (hyphen): None of the above.

Attribute

Allows you to view the progress of the following operations:

Formatting volumes (see

“Formatting the LDEVs” (page 79)

)

Executing Quick Format on volumes (see

“ Quick Formatting the LDEVs” (page 82)

)

Overwriting control blocks in external mainframe volumes (see

“Making External

Mainframe Volumes Usable” (page 87)

)

Shredding volumes (see

“Deleting the Data in the Target Volume” (page 90)

)

It takes approximately 30 seconds before the progress information shows.

A message appears if you click this button when volumes are not being formatted and
shredded.

The progress of the following operations are not displayed at the same time:

Formatting volumes

Shredding volumes

Preparing for quick formatting on volumes

While these operations are executing, the Select Progress dialog box opens. To check the
progress of the operation, select and display one of the progresses of the operations.

Progress

Opens the Shredding Param dialog box where you can define the shredding settings.

Shredding Param.

Exports the file that contains the results of shredding operations that have been performed
so far.

Export

Opens the Format All dialog box.
