Adding a Fibre Channel Converter

2. Issue the SCF INFO TAPE command after the ADD TAPE command is finished to

verify that the tape drive has been properly configured. For example:

->INFO TAPE $TAPE0, DETAIL

The following ADD TAPE command adds a tape drive connected to the PMF
CRU in group 01, module 1, and slot 50 to the system configuration using the
name $TAPE1:

->ADD TAPE $TAPE1, SENDTO STORAGE, LOCATION (1,1,50), DEVICEID 5,
PRIMARYCPU 2, BACKUPCPU 3

For more information on the ADD and INFO commands, see the SCF Reference

Adding a Fibre Channel Converter

ServerNet/DA

To add a Fibre Channel converter to the system configuration database, the
Fibre Channel converter need not be physically installed, but the adapter that
controls the converter must be installed. Use the SCF ADD SCSI command to
add a Fibre Channel converter.

For example:

To add an converter with a SCSI ID of 8 named $SFROUT1 to SAC 1 of a
ServerNet/DA adapter in group 1, module 1, slot 54, enter the following
command at an SCF prompt:

-> ADD SCSI $SFROUT1, SENDTO STORAGE, PRIMARYLOCATION (1,1,54),
PRIMARYSAC 1, SCSIID 8

For complete details about the SCF ADD SCSI command, including command
syntax, see the SCF Reference Manual for the Storage Subsystem.

Refer to the 6760 ServerNet/DA manual for more information about
ServerNet/DA.

For more information about configuring a Fibre Channel converter, refer to the
(CT9800FC) Fibre Channel Converter Installation and User’s Guide.
