Servicing the Tape Drive

This section includes:

Removing a Tape Drive From the Tape
Enclosure

1. Remove the rear cover.

2. Remove the power cord and the fiber cable from the unit.

3. Loosen the two screws on the rear of the drive. See

Figure 6-2

on page 6-3 for the

location of the two rear screws.

4. When the two screws are both unscrewed all the way, take hold of the rear handle

and slowly pull the drive toward you.

5. Pull the tape drive out enough so that the top handle is visible. With one hand on

the rear handle and the other hand on the top handle, slowly pull the tape drive out
of the enclosure and set it aside.
