2 Installation Requirements and Procedures
2-1 System Requirements
The XP Remote Web Console Java™ applet program is downloaded from the SVP to the XP Remote Web
Console client. The applet runs on the web browser of the XP Remote Web Console and communicates with the
attached XP1024/XP128 Disk Array subsystems via the TCP/IP network.
The XP Remote Web Console software has the following system requirements:
NOTE: If you want to connect to more than one subsystem, log on to the SVP of each of the desired
subsystems and use individual web client Java™ applet programs on separate web browser windows.
• XP Remote Web Console client(s). Table 2-1 and Table 2-2 list the system requirements for the XP Remote
Web Console client, including the supported browsers and Java Runtime Environment™ version(s) for each
operating system.
• A web browser is required on the XP Remote Web Console client.
• Up to 32 XP Remote Web Console users can concurrently access the same XP1024/XP128 Disk Array
subsystem, but only one user can be in Modify mode at a time. Users in View mode can view the
subsystem information, but cannot make any changes. An administrator can see who is currently using
the XP Remote Web Console by checking the logon access log (see section 3-2 ).
• LAN cables and connection
• Thinnet coaxial cable. For twisted-pair connections, contact your HP account support representative for
assistance.
• The total length of the LAN cables must not be greater than 185 meters (607 feet).
• XP1024/XP128 Disk Array license keys for XP Remote Web Console and other features
