If you are not using the backup server as the NetBackup master server, be sure to install Recovery
Manager for Oracle on the NetBackup master server.

CAUTION:

Before you upgrade to a new version of 3PAR Recovery Manager, deinstall any

previously installed versions of Recovery Manager. To remove a previously installed package, log
on as the root user and use the pkgrm <package_name> command. For versions prior to, or
equal to, 3.0.4, the package name is VCDBAora. Starting with version 4.1.0, the package name
is RMOra.

Starting Installation

To install 3PAR Recovery Manager on a Solaris system:

Procedure 1

1.

Log on as the root user.

2.

Insert the 3PAR Recovery Manager CD into a CD-ROM drive.

If the CD is not mounted automatically, you will need to mount it manually.

# mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s2/cdrom

3.

Change to the CD-ROM drive.

# cd /cdrom/cdrom0/Solaris

4.

Use the pkgadd command as follows:

# pkgadd -d . RMOra

You will be prompted to answer several questions about creating the installation area and the
setuid

files to be installed.

NOTE:

Install the following patch if applicable:

Solaris 5.10 requires patch 119130-26, or higher.

The following command can be used to verify whether the patches are installed or not:

showrev -p | grep 119130

Verifying Installation

To verify 3PAR Recovery Manager installation on a Solaris system:
1.

Log in as the root user.

2.

Use the pkginfo command as follows:

# pkginfo -l RMOra

PKGINST: RMOra
