Recording an image from a mini DV tape
as a still image

Your camcorder can read moving picture data recorded on a mini DV tape and record it
as a still image on a “Memory Stick.” Your camcorder can also take in moving picture
data through the input connector and record it as a still image on a “Memory Stick.”

Before operation
Insert a recorded mini DV tape and a “Memory Stick” into your camcorder.

(1) Set the POWER switch to VTR.
(2) Press N. The picture recorded on the mini DV tape is played back.
(3) Keep pressing PHOTO lightly until the picture from the mini DV tape freezes.

“CAPTURE” appears on the LCD screen or in the viewfinder. Recording does
not start yet.

(4) Press PHOTO deeper. The image displayed on the screen will be recorded on a

“Memory Stick.” Recording is complete when the bar scroll indicator
disappears.

Image size of still pictures
Image size is automatically set to 640

×

480.

When the access lamp is lit or flashing
Never shake or strike the unit. As well do not turn the power off , eject a “Memory
Stick” or remove the battery pack. Otherwise, the image data breakdown may occur.

If “

” appears on the LCD screen or in the viewfinder

The inserted “Memory Stick” is incompatible with your camcorder because its format
does not conform with your camcorder. Check the format of the “Memory Stick.”

If you press PHOTO lightly in the playback mode
Your camcorder stops momentarily.

Sound recorded on a mini DV tape
You cannot record the sound from a mini DV tape.
