Set Travel Limits

Setting the travel limit stops to positions just outside expected test crosshead travel helps prevent equipment
damage and injury. The interlock will set and the crosshead will stop whenever the crosshead reaches a
travel limit stop.

MTS recommends setting limits twice. First, before installing the specimen, set limits just outside the range
of travel necessary to safely install the specimen. Second, before running the test, set limits to just outside
the expected range of travel for the test you are running.

For details on what to do if a limit is tripped, see

Recover from a Tripped Travel Limit
