Configuring the 1329I Unit and DeviceNet Option

Going Online with
DeviceNet Manager

You can configure a 1329I unit/DeviceNet option device offline and then
download the configuration, or you can configure it online. We recommend
configuring it online.

1. Start DeviceNet Manager.

2. Select Utilities > Set Up Online Connection to display the DeviceNet

3. Under Available DeviceNet Drivers, select a DeviceNet driver, and then

click OK. The Driver Configuration dialog box appears.

4. Select the appropriate settings for the following:

5. Click OK to go online. The online icon is displayed under Comm in the

lower right corner of the main window.

Description

Serial Port Setup

Select the communications port on your computer to which the
DeviceNet adapter is connected.

Baud Rate

Select the baud rate that is used by your computer communications port.

Node Address

Type a unique node address for the computer on the DeviceNet network.
Usually, computers use the node address 62. Do not use 63 because
this is the factory-default setting for new devices on the network.

Data Rate

Select the data rate that devices on the DeviceNet network are using.
