INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
This sub-section includes information for connecting the
gas supplies to the Power Supply. The information is
grouped in paragraphs for different types of gases and
options per the following:
A. Using Shop Air Only
B. Using Shop Air Only with Optional Two Stage
Filter Assembly
C. Using High Pressure Gas Cylinders Only
D. Using Plasma Shop Air and Secondary High
Pressure Gas Cylinder
E. Using Plasma Shop Air with Optional Two Stage
Filter Assembly and Secondary High Pressure
Gas Cylinder
A. Using Shop Air Only
Each Air Line Regulator on the rear of the power supply
has a built-in Air Line Filter. Filtering is required when
using an air compressor to insure that moisture and de-
bris from the supply hose does not enter the torch.
CAUTION
When using shop air, the air supply must be free of
oil, moisture, and other contaminants. Excessive
oil and moisture may cause double-arcing, rapid
tip wear, or even complete torch failure. Contami-
nants may cause poor cutting performance and
rapid electrode wear.
It is recommended that the Optional Two Stage Air
Line Filter be used for improved air filtering.
The following procedure is the recommended shop air
connection method:
1. Locate the 1/4 NPT to #4 (6 mm) barbed hose fitting
shipped inside the Torch Spare Parts Kit.
2. Remove the factory installed plug fitting from the end
of the T-Fitting on the "Y" Hose Assembly.
3. Install the supplied barbed fitting into the input of
the "T" Fitting.

4. Tighten the barbed fitting.
5. Connect the air supply hose (see NOTE) to the barbed
fitting and secure with a customer supplied hose
clamp.
NOTE
The customer supplied hose must be at least a #4
hose (1/4 inch or 6 mm I.D.) to provide adequate
air flow.
B. Using Shop Air Only with Optional Two
Stage Filter Assembly
NOTE
For units where the Optional Two Stage Air Line
Filter has not been factory installed, install the Fil-
ter Assembly according to the instructions provided
with the assembly.
The following procedure is the recommended shop air
connection method when using the optional two stage
air filter:
1. Remove the factory installed plug fitting from the end
of the Fitting in the input port (IN) of the Two Stage
Air Line Filter Assembly.
2. Locate the 1/4 NPT to #4 (6 mm) barbed hose fitting
shipped inside the Torch Spare Parts Kit.
3. Install the barbed fitting into the input port (IN) of
the Two Stage Air Filter.
