Front Eyebolt Adjustment

Refer to Figure 18
6.

Raise drill and install lock channels. Loosen jam nut

.

7.

Adjust stop nut

to raise eyebolt. The depth change

per unit of eyebolt movement is 1.75in depth per inch
of eyebolt, or 4.4 cm depth per cm of eyebolt. This is
also about

3

16

in (5mm) of depth change per turn of

the adjust nut.

8.

Re-tighten jam nut when desired depth is achieved.

9.

If the front eyebolt height requires more than about

1

4

in (13mm) adjustment, make the same adjustment

change to both rear eyebolts, to keep the drill level
front-to-back.

Note: The total reveal on rear eyebolts may not match the

front, or each other, due to other leveling require-
ments. See “Leveling Drill” on page 44.

Coulter Down Pressure

The maximum down force at the coulters depends on:

• empty drill weight (page 20),

• extra weights added (page 32),

• down-force consumed by the opener discs (this can

range from 50-150 pounds), and;

• the current material loading (which declines to zero

during planting).

1007NT configurations typically are too light to reach the
factory down-force of 400 lbs at all rows. The tables at
right show typical forces available. Do not increase
coulter spring forces drill-wide unless weight is available.
