DIAGNOSIS POWER TRAIN
Test Conditions:
• Tractor operating in test area • Tests run at engine slow idle and fast idle
• Engine at operating temperature • Transaxle run through all speeds in both directions
Test/Check Point Normal If Not Normal
1. Running in test area. Engine running smoothly through
out throttle range.
Belt not squealing or vibrating.
Shifting is smooth and all gears
obtained.
Constant speed is maintained.
Brakes stop tractor and hold on 17°
slope.
Adjust or tune engine.
Check belt condition.
Check adjustment and condition of
idlers and guides.
Replace components as needed.
Check clutch/brake linkage
adjustment and condition. Adjust,
repair or replace as needed.
Check transaxle internal
components. Repair or replace as
needed.
Check brake components. Repair or
replace as needed.
Check belt condition.
Check adjustment and condition of
idlers and guides.
Check clutch/brake linkage
adjustment and condition.
Check transaxle internal
components.
Check brake components.
Check axles, wheels and tires.
Replace components as needed.
Check brake linkage and
components. Repair or replace as
needed.
