Removing the Speakers

 

1.

Follow the instructions in

Before You Begin

.


 

2.

Press and eject any installed cards from the ExpressCard slot and the 8-in-1 memory card reader.

 

3.

Remove any installed memory modules and Mini-Cards (see

Memory

and

Communication Cards

).


 

4.

Follow the instructions in

Display Assembly

.


 

5.

Remove the four speaker screws (two on each speaker) from the computer base.

 

6.

Remove the palm rest (see

Removing the Palm Rest

).


 

7.

Make note of the speaker cable routing.

 

8.

Remove the speakers and the cable.

 

Replacing the Speakers

 

1.

Replace the speakers and the speaker cable.

 

2.

Connect the speaker cable to the connector on the system board.

 

3.

Replace the four speaker screws (two on each speaker) that secure the speakers to the palm rest.

 

4.

Replace the palm rest (see

Replacing the Palm Rest

).


 

5.

Follow the instructions in

Replacing the Display Assembly

.


 

6.

Reinstall the memory modules and Mini-Cards, if any.

 

7.

Reinstall any removed cards in the ExpressCard and 8-in-1 card slots.
