It is necessary to use the stopped-down AE
mode when using close-up accessories which
have no FD signal pins, such as extension tubes
or bellows in combination with an FD lens, You
can take a picture while confirming the depth-
of-field by pushing in the stop-down lever. This
mode is also useful when using the Canon
Reflex Lens or FL lenses and when using simple
FD lenses.
