Chapter 4: Performance Features and Safety Precautions

MAY DRAW FUMES OUT OF
THE HOOD.

The use of heat generating
equipment in this hood without the
exhaust system operating properly
can cause damage to the hood.

The Protector Perchloric
Acid Laboratory Hood
should be certified by a
qualified certification
technician before it is initially
used. The hood should be re-
certified whenever it is
relocated, serviced or at least
annually thereafter.

Ensure that the unit is connected
to electrical service in accordance
with local and national electrical
codes. Failure to do so may create
a fire or electrical hazard. Do not
remove or service any electrical
components without first
disconnecting the hood from
electrical service.

Proper operation of the fume hood
depends largely upon the hood’s
location and the operator’s work
habits. Consult the Reference
Manual in Appendix D.
