Application Notes: Reverb Mixing

The DIR (Direct) parameter actually controls the volume of the DRY guitar signal (with no effect) at
the output. This can become very useful when attempting to get a wetter effect sound — rather
than cranking up all your effects levels, simply turn down the DIR parameter to remove some dry
guitar signal. The result will be thicker, richer sounding chorus, rotary, flanger, etc.

The OUTPUT control is global, which means that it effects all presets. When set to "

STEREO

", all

effect and direct signal panning will be directed toward their respective Left and Right Recording
and Main outputs. The "

STEREO

" setting should be used when connecting the left and right

outputs to individual channels of a stereo power amp and then to a stereo speaker cabinet. When
set to "

MONO

", all effect and direct panning is ignored and all signals are directed to the Left and

Right outputs evenly. Use the "

MONO

" setting and either the Left or Right output for use with a

mono amp head and non stereo speaker cabinet, or when you wish to mic only one speaker.

The PLEVEL (Preset Level) control should be used only for additional preset level matching. The
MASTER control of the first Preamp page is your first and most easily accessible level setting for
each preset, however, you may find that some clean presets with a very low gain setting are very
quiet, even with the master set to 10. High gain presets will be much louder in relation to these
ultra-clean presets. This parameter simply gives you an added preset level control in addition to
your channel masters.
