Linearity
(Refer to Figure 7-2.) If a kV correction value (from the Y-axis) has a negative sign, then its magnitude
is subtracted from the apparent reading shown on the X-axis. If a kV correction value is positive, then
its magnitude is added to the apparent kV reading on the X-axis.
Example 1
If the apparent reading is 70 kV, the correction value is -1. Since the correction value has a negative
sign, it is subtracted from the apparent reading. Therefore, 70 kV - 1 kV = 69 kV.
Example 2
If the apparent reading is 80 kV, the correction value is 0.9. Since the correction value has a positive
sign, it is added to the apparent reading. Therefore, 80 kV + 0.9 kV = 80.9 kV.
