Appendix B

Computer Control Commands

This Appendix gives an overview

of computer commands necessary to control

the IDA-4 Plus.

Overview

With the computer control feature, the user is provided more power and flexibility with the
IDA-4 Plus. For example, automation of all channels can be achieved for a completely
paperless approach to documentation.

When using computer control, the front keypad will be inoperable. The Status All
Channels screen will be displayed and the menu prompts will guide the operator through
the prime sequence and indicate the type of test in progress.

Controlling the IDA-4 Plus with HydroGraph

The IDA-4 Plus can be operated using a computer running HydroGraph™ software.
Follow the steps below to get started:

• Power off the IDA-4. Connect the provided serial communications null modem cable or

Fluke Biomedical’s serial cable (PN 2392046) between the IDA-4 Plus serial port and the
computer. Make a note as to which PC communications port the cable is connected to.

• Power up the IDA-4 Plus and wait for the status all channels screen to appear on the

display.

• Make sure HydroGraph™ version 2.xx is installed on the computer.

• Once installed, start HydroGraph™ on the computer, connection should automatically

occur. If not, refer to the HydroGraph™ Operators manual for further details.
