Plectron Paging

The Plectron paging feature requires a four-digit prefix (capcode). Like 2-Tone paging, the capcode and
code plan will determine at what frequency the paging tones will be transmitted.

Plectron paging uses the Plectron Code Plan Chart and Plectron Tone Group/Frequency Chart. Refer to
the example below and the tables to determine the capcodes you need.

Plectron Paging Example

Suppose the number of Plectron keypad digits accepted from the user on the selected channel is 0 and the
capcode has been programmed to 3456. The A tone length is 1 second and the B tone length is 2
seconds.

If the console operator were to press the

TRANSMIT

button, the console would send an A tone of

330.5 Hz for 1 second, and then a B tone of 564.7 Hz for 2 seconds.

The frequencies for the A and B tones are determined from the charts that follow, according to the
following procedure:

1. Locate the first two digits of the prefix (3 and 4 in this example) on the Plectron Page Code Plan

Chart below.

2. In the column beneath this two-digit number, there are two P numbers (P5 and P6 in this example)

that correspond to tone groups on Plectron Page Code Plan Chart. Using the P number for the third
digit of the prefix, determine the correct tone group from the Plectron Tone Group/Frequency Chart
on page 30.

3. Find the frequency of A tone (330.5 Hz) by locating the intersection of the tone group row with the

column headed by the third prefix digit (5 in this example).

4. Find the frequency of the B tone is in the same manner by using the tone group for the fourth prefix

digit as listed in the Plectron Paging Code Plan Chart below.
