Astropol ®
Instructions for Use
Description
Astropol ® is a high-quality three-step polishing system for
finishing and polishing dental composite and amalgam restora-
tions. The polishers of the Astropol system are available in the
following four shapes: small flame, large flame, cup and disk.
Composition
Astropol F and Astropol P consist of silicone rubber, silicon
carbide particles and colour pigments.
Astropol HP contains silicone rubber, diamond particles,
aluminium oxide, titanium oxide and iron oxide.
The shanks are made of stainless steel.
Indication
Astropol is indicated for the finishing and polishing of restora-
tions made of composite material and amalgam.
Contraindications
If a patient is known to be allergic to any of the above
components, the polishers should not be used.
Side effects
None known to date.
Application
– 1
st Step: Finishing with Astropol F (grey)
With the Astropol F finisher, excess material is removed and
rough restoration surfaces are smoothed.
– 2 nd Step: Polishing with Astropol P (green)
Polishing with Astropol P results in a smooth surface finish.
– 3 rd Step: High-gloss polishing with Astropol HP
(dusky pink)
The microfine Astropol HP diamond polisher allows a high-
gloss surface finish to be achieved quickly. Do not apply
pressure.
