TASCAM CD-GT2

Using guitars and mics

By connecting a guitar or mic to this player, you can mix the
input from the guitar or mic with the CD playback sound. You
can also use the built-in guitar and mic effects for guitar and
singing practice

Setting the input

When shipped from the factory, the

GUITAR/MIC IN

jack is set

for guitar input. Use the following procedures to set the unit
for mic input.
1

Press the

LEVEL

key to open the

LEVEL

screen.

2

Use the

CURSOR

(

¥

) key to choose

INPUT

(initial

setting is

GUITAR

), and use the

VALUE

(+) key to set it

to

MIC

.

NOTE

The effects available change according to the

INPUT

setting (See “Using built-in effects” on page 30.).

Adjusting the input level

Use the

INPUT

volume control to the right of the

GUITAR/MIC

IN

jack to adjust the input level. Use the input level meter at

the bottom of the

LEVEL

screen as shown on the preceding

page for guidance.

Adjusting the monitoring volume

Use the

PHONES VOLUME (+, –)

keys to adjust the head-

phones output volume. Follow the same procedure used when
adjusting the playback volume of a CD. (See “Adjusting the
volume” on page 25.)

NOTE

Adjust the volume on the external device when using
an audio system or speakers with built-in amplifiers to
monitor through the

LINE OUT

jack. You cannot adjust

the output level of this device’s

LINE OUT

jack.

Playing along with a CD

This device combines the signal input through the

GUITAR/

MIC IN

jack and the CD playback signal and outputs this mix

to the

PHONES

and

LINE OUT

jacks. In other words, you can

play your guitar or sing through a mic connected to the player
and hear this sound along with the playing CD.
