6 - MAINTENANCE
• All work relating to installation, commissioning
and maintenance must be carried out by
experienced and qualified personnel.
• Do not carry out any work before the VARMECA - 20
power supply circuit has been cut off and locked, and
wait 2 minutes for the capacitors to discharge (for the
single-phase range).
6.1 - Care
• Temperature variations encourage the formation
of condensation. If this occurs, the condensation
drain plugs at the bottom of the motor should be
removed. Even in a very humid atmosphere.
No specific servicing is required for VARMECA - 20 motors,
apart from the regular removal of dust from the fan grille and
the cooling fins located at the bottom of the unit.
Do not dismantle the VARMECA - 20 while it is still under
guarantee, as this would then immediately become null
and void.
6.2 - Measurements
6.2.1 - General
The input voltages can be measured using ordinary
instruments.
The motor current is not measured on the VARMECA - 20
power supply (L1, L2, L3). It is measured using an ordinary
clamp ammeter on the longest black wire, which forms a loop
on the side of the protection circuit above the motor terminals.
6.2.2 - Procedure for measuring the motor
current (if the motor wire loop is inaccessible)
- Open the VARMECA - 20 power supply circuit and
lock it.
- Wait 2 minutes for the capacitors to discharge (for the single-
phase range).
- Open the cover of the VARMECA - 20.
- Open the connection between terminals 1 and 3.
- Remove the 2 TORX 20 + slot type screws from the
protection circuit above the motor terminals.
- Pass the longest motor wire alongside the protection circuit.
- Replace the protection circuit and fasten it.
- Pass the clamp ammeter through the motor wire loop.
