Adding hosts to the VDS

1.

Select Home > Inventory > Networking.

2.

From the left navigation tree, right-click the VDS name HP and select Add Host from the short-cut
menu.

3.

Select the IP addresses (192.168.5.21 and 192.168.5.22) of the ESXi hosts, and then select their
physical NIC for uplink connections. In this example, select vmnic3 for both hosts. vmnic3

connects to the switch at 172.200.100.1.
Leave other fields as their default settings.

4.

Click OK.

Creating a port group

1.

Select Home > Inventory > Networking.

2.

From the left navigation tree, select HP.

3.

Click the HP Port Group Management tab.
This example uses the default port group HPdefaultPortGroup in VLAN 1.
The VLAN to which a port group belongs must be within the range of VLANs allowed by the
aggregate interface that connects the edge switch to the VM.

Verifying vCenter Server connectivity

1.

Log in to HP FlexFabric Virtual Switch Orchestration Software for 5900v.

2.

Verify that the vCenter Server has been connected. If Disconnect is displayed on the Connection
column, click the link to connect to the vCenter Server.
