Top cover removal

Before doing this task, remove the front bezel assembly.

To remove the top cover, proceed as illustrated.

Remove 15
top screws

Remove 6 nuts
and remove rack
mount ears

Remove top

Use a #2 Phillips screw driver to remove the top screws.

Use a 1/4" nut driver to remove the rack mount ear nuts.

Disk backplane unit removal

Before doing this task, remove the front bezel assembly, top cover, disk controller board, front
interconnect board, and disk modules.

A screwdriver with a shaft at least 7 inches long is recommended. Use the following view of the
disk backplane to help you locate screws.
