Spotlight Method 2
1.
Select Transition
[BKGD]
and
[KEY 1]
or
[KEY 2]
.

Select a
[CROSSPOINT]
on the PGM bus. Select the same
[CROSSPOINT]
on the PST and Key buses. Watch the Preview
monitor to see the effect take shape.

On the Keyer panel, select
[PRESET PATTERN]
and
[MATTE FILL]
.
4.
On the Pattern panel, select the
[CIRCLE]
pattern. Also select
[MASK/PRESET PATTERN]
and adjust
(SIZE)
to set circle size as seen
on the Preview monitor. Then turn on
[POS]
and use the
joystick to position the circle.
5.
Set the Matte controls to make the matte fill black, and then set
Matte
(OPACITY)
to make the matte a transparent shadow.
6.
Select Pattern
[MASK/PRESET INVERT]
. This will place the
transparent shadow matte outside the pattern over the
background video, highlighting the video inside the circle.
7.
Fine-tune as desired. Then cut or mix the spotlight on air.
