Footswitch and Footswitch Remote

Footswitch Setup from the GUI
A footswitch can be connected to a jack on the back panel of the HDR24/96 and/or on the
Remote 24 or Remote 48. The two footswitches can have different functions, so there’s a
pull-down menu for each switch jack. Click on the down arrow and select the function you
want the footswitch to perform. The choices are:

Punch
Stop/Play
Cycle Cue (jump to the next cue in the project)
New Cue (set a new cue)

The Footswitch Remote menu has one extra choice: Solo. This interacts with the Track
Select buttons and display on the Remote 24 and toggles the selected track in and out of Solo.
While this function operates with the Remote 48, you have no way to select the track being
soloed. Better to use it for another function.

Footswitch Setup from the Front Panel
Footswitch settings are accessed from
the second page of the SYSTEM
MENU.

Selecting HDR or Remote brings up a
submenu, which allows selection of
any of the four possible footswitch
functions. Use either the SELECT or
(-)DEC or (+)INC buttons to scroll
through the options.

Network

The HDR24/96 utilizes its TCP/IP
network setup for two independent
functions. First, it’s used with the FTP
server for transferring files between the
recorder and another networked device,
usually a computer. Second, the MDS
Network (that’s Mackie Data Systems in
case you wondered) is used to
communicate with another Mackie hard
disk recorder when the two recorders are
operated together as a 48-track system.

See Appendix D for details on the network
parameters and how to match them up
with your system. See Appendix E for a
full explanation of the MDS Network
setup options.
