Song Offset and Pre-roll Setup from the GUI

129

Song Offset and Pre-Roll times can be set by any of the methods for editing time fields –
direct numeric entry, dragging over a digit pair, or capturing the Current Time. These two
values are always in HH:MM:SS:FF format regardless of the working time display setting.

Pre-Roll can be set from the Remote 48, but not from the HDR24/96 front panel. See the

Autolocator

for details on

Pre Roll

(page 73).

Generate MTC Enabling from the GUI
This is a checkbox to toggle this function on or off.

Generate MTC Enabling from the Front Panel
Generate MTC is the only MIDI Setup function available from the front panel. It’s tucked
away on the second page of the SYNC menu. The two illuminated SELECT buttons toggle
the function on or off.

Default Tempo Setup from the GUI
If the song is at a fixed tempo, it can be entered into the Default Tempo box and the BBT
display will track with the song. Clicking the arrows beside the Tempo box increment tempo
in units. Double-clicking in the dialog box
allows direct entry from the keyboard to a
resolution of 1/1000

th

of a beat per minute.

Projects initially created in HDR24/96
software versions below 1.1, when first
opened in this version, will come up with
the Default Tempo shifted to the left by
one decimal place. A project with a default
tempo of 120 will show a tempo of 12.000.
To correct this, edit the Default Tempo to
the correct value and re-save the project.

Tempo Map Setup from the GUI
If you’re recording audio tracks in sync with a
MIDI file that has a tempo map, the tempo map is
entered from this menu. Tempo mapping doesn’t
affect playback speed, it only changes the spacing
of the ruler marks when in the BBT display mode.
When a tempo map has been entered, you’ll notice
that the length between measures changes to follow
the tempo changes.
