5. System Example (5) Mid-size classroom/Lecture Hall

This example is constructed based on assumption as follows.

- Sound system is used for lesson and lecture.
- Room size is about 15m x 15m with 3-4 meters ceiling height to accommodate 100 -120 students.
- Microphones (1-wired or 1-wireless) are mainly used at close place to a screen and black/whiteboard.
- Adequate room acoustics are considered, such as sound isolatio n, reverberation time and background

noise level.

Customer’s benefit on the example.
- Adequate sound level within listening area to provide clearer s ound quality.
-This system does not incorporate ceiling speakers.

Front speakers reproduce both mic (voice) and line sources such as DVD.
So that students can hear the reproduced voice with direction from the teacher/professor.

- The SRP-X700P including functions from audio mixing, AV/RGB selection to amplifier, occupies less space,

so that multi-media lectern can contain other audio/video devices without the need of another rack.

NOTE:

In order to suffer less feedback caused through mic and speakers, the front speakers needs to be placed

in front of the area where the microphone is used. The front speakers in this system are hung from ceiling
overcome this issue. If the front speakers are placed on front wall, more feedback may occur.
Also, for better sound quality for students sitting in the front and 2

nd

rows, more space may be required. (Less

front space gives sound of less high frequency definition to the students in the front and 2

nd

row.)

Directivity, sensitivity and setup angle of front speakers need to be considered to provide adequate sound quality
to the whole listening area.
