The wire feeds for a short period of

time but then stops feeding. When

the gun trigger is released and

then retriggered, the wire resumes

feeding but soon stops again.

Check the wire

restrictions.

2. While welding make certain the

p owe r s o u r c e a r c vo l t a g e i s

s t ay i n g a b ove 1 5 V D C. T h e

feeder will not function properly

on less than 15 VDC.

1. C h e ck t h e m o t o r a r m a t u r e

current through either of the

armature leads (539 or 541). A

typical value is 4 amps DC.

2. If 5 amps or less is indicated

a n d t h e a r m a t u r e vo l t a g e i s

being disabled by the control

board, then the control board

may be faulty. Replace.

current. Check and or replace

the motor brushes.

4. The motor or gearbox may be

faulty. Replace.

1. If the LN-25™ is connected to

source, the arc voltage may be

“ d i p p i n g ” b e l ow t h e 1 5 V D C

threshold that is essential for

proper LN-25™ operation.

2. Try connecting the LN-25™ to

a

c o n s t a n t

vo l t a g e

p owe r

source or a flatter slope output.

3. Make sure the wire feed mode

switch (S3) is in the correct

position for the power source

being used, and proper speed

s e t t i n g

i s

u s e d

fo r

t h e

procedure.

m e c h a n i c a l

r e s t r i c t i o n s i n t h e w i r e fe e d

path.

1. M o n i t o r t h e m o t o r a r m a t u r e

vo l t a g e ( l e a d s 5 3 9 t o 5 4 1 ) .

Normal range is 2 to 23 VDC.

I f

i s

proper, then check or replace

the motor brushes.

2. If the motor armature voltage is

not correct, then the control

board may be faulty. Replace.

If for any reason you do not understand the test procedures or are unable to perform the tests/repairs safely,
