1. Attach a power supply to the

camcorder, and slide and release the
EJECT button to open the cassette
compartment.

2. Insert or remove the cassette.

Cassette Care and Storage

• When you are finished with a cassette,

rewind it, and remove it from the
camcorder.

• When you are finished recording, close

the cassette’s record-protect (safety) tab
to prevent accidental erasure.

• Label your cassettes before storing them.

• Store cassettes vertically in their

protective boxes at normal room
temperatures. Do not leave your
camcorder or cassettes in a car or
outdoors for an extended period.
Excessive heat or cold may damage
your cassettes.

Caution: Insert the
cassette only one way
with the record-protect
tab facing up and the tape
window facing out. The
cassette should slide
easily into the compart-
ment. Do not force the
cassette.

3. Gently close the cassette compartment

door with your hand. The camcorder
will automatically close the top of the
cassette compartment. Do not push
the top down or you may damage
your camcorder.

• Do not touch or cover the small holes in

the cassette or use cassettes with
damaged or spliced tape.

• Keep dust from entering the cassette

compartment. All dust is abrasive and
will cause excessive wear on the tape
and the camcorder’s recording or
playback heads.

• Keep the cassette away from strong

magnetic fields such as electric motors
and other devices.

• Do not use a cassette if it has been

damaged or exposed to moisture. The
tape may jam and/or damage your
camcorder.
