Edit Search

The edit search feature allows you to use
the F.FWD (fast forward), REW
(rewind), and PLAY buttons on the
camcorder (or remote) control to
precisely position the tape while the
camcorder is in the record-pause mode.

• Press and hold the REW (rewind) button

to visually search the recorded tape in
reverse.

• Press and hold the F.FWD (fast

forward) button to visually search

When you release the buttons, the
camcorder will return to the record-pause
mode at that point on the tape.

Quick Review

Press the REVIEW button when the
camcorder is in the record-pause mode to
review the last few seconds of a
recording.

The camcorder will play back the last
few seconds of the recording, return the
tape to its previous position, and return to
the record-pause mode.

Tally Light

The tally light on the front of the
camcorder lights when the camcorder is
recording.

Tape Positioning

When the POWER switch is in the VCR
position and the camcorder is stopped,
you can quickly fast-forward or rewind
the tape.

• Press the F.FWD (fast-forward) button

to fast-forward the tape. Press the
STOP button to stop fast-forwarding.

• Press the REW (rewind) button to

rewind the tape to the beginning. Press
the STOP button to stop rewinding.

BACK LIGHT Button

The BACK LIGHT button adjusts the
amount of light that enters the camcorder.
When the POWER switch is in the
CAMERA position, press and hold the
BACK LIGHT button to let more light
enter the camcorder. Some examples
when you may want to add more light
are:

• When the subject is darker than the

surrounding scene.

• When the background is bright, but

your subject appears too dark. (For
example, a person standing in front of a
window.)

• When the subject you are recording is

in a shadowed area.

Release the BACK LIGHT button when
lighting conditions return to normal.
