by the first letter in
the first name.
If there s no name
entry matchng
your search, the

Searching for phone book entries
To search for phone book entres on a handset or the telephone base, enter
the
Phone Book, then:
Press the UP and DOWN NavKeys to scroll through the entres n
alphabetcal order.
Press a dal pad key (
0-9) to start a quck name search.
Press the FIND softkey to search for phone book entres by name.
To start a quick name search:
1. Enter the
Phone Book menu from a handset or the telephone base (see page 73).
2. Press a dal pad key ( 0-9).
The phone book will display the first name beginning with the first letter associated with the dial
pad key, f there s an entry n the phone book entry that begns wth that letter. To see other names
that start wth the letters on the same dal pad key, keep pressng the dal pad key. The names wll
be shown n alphabetcal order.
For example, f you have name entres Jennifer, Jessie, Kevin and Linda n a phone book:
If you press 5 (JKL) once, Jennifer wll be hghlghted.
If you press 5 (JKL) twce Kevin wll be hghlghted.
If you press 5 (JKL) three tmes Linda wll be hghlghted.
To search for phone book entries by name:
1. Enter the
Phone Book menu from a handset or the telephone base (see page 73).
2. Press the FIND softkey.
3. Enter a name usng the dal pad keys ( 0-9). If you have name entres such as Alice, Amy, Chris,
Deborah, Jenny, and Kristen n a handset or telephone base phone book and you enter:
A n the Search for screen, and then press the DONE softkey, Alice wll be hghlghted.
AM n the Search for screen, and then press the DONE softkey, Amy wll be hghlghted.
G n the Search for screen, and then press the DONE softkey, Deborah wll be hghlghted.
