3. HOWTO CONNECT THE DGFCAS SLAVE OFA PLC

(PREDEFINED MASTER/SLAVE CONNECTION SET)

AS A SLAVE ONLY COMMUNICATION CARD

3.1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This kind of connection is made with many slaves and one and only one master, usually a PLC (or PC) card.

With this connections no Bricks program execution is allowed. The DGFC acts only as a slave communication

card. LocalBus is not supported in this case. Note that to use this feature you don’t need any tools(Win+Drive
or Bricks).
The configuration of this mode is made only through parameters that can be input either by the drive
keypad or by a PC configuration program (e.g. HIBS) connected to the DGFC by the R5485 serial line. Note that
not all parameters can be exchanged through this type of connection.

3.2. USER GUIDE

In order to use this feature of the DGFC, do the following:

1) on the DGFC card

:

-

disconnect the card from the DeviceNet network

-

transition the DGFC to IDLE state

-

load default parameters

-

set parameter 350 of the DGFC (DGFC mode) to 10

-

set the appropriate MACID in the “DnetMacld” parameter (MACID must be unique in the network)

-

set the appropriate baudrate in the “DnetBaud” parameter (baud rate must be the same in the network)

-

set parameter 501 of the DGFC (“period tim”) to 2

-

set parameter 504 of the DGFC (“ab. RUN”) to 0

-

set DPRAM configuration parameters to the values of drive parameter indexes to read/write. Remember:
the number of parameters to read/write is obtained from DPRAM configuration parameters. The synchro-
nous parameters are in the top of parameters read/written by PLC, while asynchronous parameters are in the
bottom of parameters read/written by PLC

-

parameters “DN#RxPLC” and “DN#TxPLC” will be automatically calculated by the DGFC at next power
on. Be sure that the values of these parameters match the number of bytes transmitted/ received by the
master

-

set parameter 400 of the DGFC (“DnetEnable”) to 1

-

save parameters of the DGFC

2) on master node: (Remember that for parameter configuration you must use PLC software)

-

configure the DGFC as a Polled device

-

configure the proper number of bytes transmitted/received by the PLC
