Auto white balance can also be enabled by using an external trigger. However,
if there is a pause of >10 seconds between capturing individual frames this pro-
cess is aborted.

AUTOFNC_AOI affects the auto shutter, auto gain and auto white balance fea-
tures and is independent of the Format7 AOI settings. If this feature is switched
off the work area position and size will follow the current active image size.

Within this area, the R-G-B component values of the samples are added and
used as actual values for the feedback.

The following drawing illustrates the AUTOFNC_AOI settings in greater detail.

Note

The following ancillary conditions should be observed for suc-
cessful white balance:

There are no stringent or special requirements on the
image content, it requires only the presence of equally
weighted RGB pixels in the image.

Automatic white balance can be started both during
active image capture and when the camera is in idle state.
