Example: Cascade switch connection

In the following example, an AutoView 200 1 x 8 switch is connected to port one of a DSR1021
switch named dsr-1021-huntsville, using an IQ module with an EID of 520255-023FB7. Each port
of the AutoView 200 switch is connected to a different target device (520255-023FB701 through
520255-023FB708).

Example: Power device connection

In the following example, an Avocent SPC power device is connected to the SPC port of a
DSR1021 switch named dsr-1021-huntsville. SPC device outlet A1 is connected to target device
02-17-F2 SPC A1.

To display a connections window:

1.

In a Units View window (see Accessing Units View windows on page 106) click on a unit
name. The Unit Overview window will open.

2.

Click Connections in the side navigation bar.

If you selected a target device, the Target Device Connections window will open,
including all connections to the target device.

If you selected a managed appliance, the Appliance Connections window will open,
including all connections to the managed appliance.

3.

(Optional) Click Table to view the connections as a table, or click Graphical to view the
connections as an illustration.

Renaming a managed appliance connection

To rename a managed appliance connection:

1.

In a Units View window containing appliances (see Accessing Units View windows on
page 106), click on
the appliance name.

2.

Click Connections in the side navigation bar. The Appliance Connections window will open.
