• Refer to the manual that came with the
source player.
• Refer to the manual that came with the
source player.
• Choose i.LINK or AUTO (p.52).

• Select i.LINK or AUTO with the SIGNAL
SELECT button (p. 52).

• Turn on the component(s).

• Select the correct i.LINK INPUT setting
(p.87).

• Connect the power plug to the wall
outlet.
• Disconnect the power plug from the
outlet, and insert again.

• Turn down the volume.
• When it’s convenient go to ACOUSTIC
CALIBRATION EQ (p.46–47) and lower the
63 Hz and 125 Hz equalizer levels using
MANUAL setting.
• Turning DIGITAL SAFETY on may allow
you to turn up the volume a little more.
(From the Standby mode, and while holding
down the BASS/TREBLE button press the
STANDBY/ON button. Each action switches
SAFETY ON or OFF.)

• Switch the unit off, then on again.
• Disconnect the power plug from the
outlet, and insert again.

• Reinsert the speaker wires, making sure
there are no stray strands of wire and that
they are inserted fully.

• You won’t be able to operate the amplifier
for a minute. After that turn the amplifier back
on. If you have the same problem again call a
Pioneer-accredited repair center.

• Turn the amplifier off and allow it to cool
down with good ventilation. It is very likely
that you have a heat dispersal and
ventilation problem so please follow the
instructions on p.2 (“Installing the
Amplifier”) carefully.

Troubleshooting

Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with
this component, check the points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other
components and electrical appliances being used. If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks
listed below, ask your nearest PIONEER authorized service center or your dealer to carry out repair work.

i.LINK Interface

No sound is output.

i.LINK indicator does not
light up even when an i.LINK-
equipped component is
selected.

The program format
indicators don’t disappear
when SACD playback stops.

You can’t select i.LINK when
using the SIGNAL SELECT
button.

Power

The power does not turn on.

During loud playback the
power suddenly switches off.

The unit does not respond
when the buttons are pressed.

During operation, the unit
suddenly switches off.

AMP ERR blinks in the
display and the unit turns off.

OVERHEAT blinks in the
display and no sound is
output.

• An output signal is not produced from
the i.LINK connector on the source player.
• The selected component is not
compatible with i.LINK Audio.
• The SIGNAL SELECT is set to 2 RF,
DIGITAL or ANALOG.

• A 2 RF, DIGITAL or ANALOG signal is
selected.

• The program format indicators remain lit
until another format source is input.

• i.LINK-equipped component(s) are not
ready.
• i.LINK INPUT setting is incorrect.

• The power plug is disconnected.

• The protection circuit may have been
activated.

• The protection circuit has been activated
because the lowest actual impedance of
the speakers (as opposed to the speakers’
rated impedance) is dangerously low.

• Static electricity caused by dry air.

• The speaker wires are frayed or sticking
out of the jack, and are touching the back of
the amplifier or another set of wires.

• The amplifier probably has a serious
problem.

• The amplifier has gotten too hot.
