Using the SCART AV connector
The SCART output should give you better
picture quality than the standard composite
video output. The SCART AV connector
functions as both a video and audio output.

• Use a commercially available SCART cable
to connect the (LINE 1) AV CONNECTOR to
your TV.
SCART pin assignment
The diagram below shows the SCART 21-pin
connector assignment. This connector
provides the video and audio signals for
connection to a compatible color TV/monitor.
Line Output setting
Use to select the audio down-mix method
when outputting Dolby Digital multi-channel
sound sources from the AUDIO OUT jacks or
AV CONNECTOR.

1 • SCART cables are available in several configurations. Make sure that the one you get will work with this system and your TV/
monitor (see SCART pin assignment below).
• If the TV’s SCART connector is a dual input/output connector, a single SCART cable can be used to input the television sound
to this unit. To listen to that sound, select Analog 2 SCART.

2 • When the Line Output is switched to Lt/Rt, the sound function will be fixed at the current setting and cannot be changed.
The display will briefly flash Line Out Mode if an attempt is made to use a prohibited function.
• When the Line Output is to Lo/Ro(Stereo), the audio from the analog output jacks may be interrupted, depending on the
operation.
• When using DTS multi-channel sound sources, output is in Lo/Ro(Stereo).
