DVD/CD/Video CD player

Can’t operate using the
remote control.

• Replace the batteries (see Putting the batteries in the remote control on page 21).
• Operate within 7 m, 30° of the remote sensor (see Using the remote control on
page 21).
• Remove any obstacles or operate from another position.
• Avoid exposing the remote sensor on the front panel to direct light.
• Check that there’s nothing mistakenly plugged into the CONTROL IN jack.
• For operating the other Pioneer component connected to the CONTROL OUT
jack of this unit, make sure that the control cable and either an HDMI or analog
audio cable are connected (page 62).
• If an object is placed on top of the touch sensor, the sensor will be activated,
thus disabling the remote control unit operations. If the action indicator remains
continuously lighted, remove any object sitting on the touch sensor panel.

The front panel display
and indicators do not
appear.

• If the display mode is set to Auto Display, the display will automatically turn off
if no operation is performed for a period of one minute. Try performing an
operation.

Motion sensor not
working.

• The motion sensor is on the front of the unit. Make sure you are within 2.5 m and
40° of the sensor.
• Since the motion sensor uses infrared rays, it may not work correctly if placed in
direct sunlight or close to heat source.
• Minimum unit height must be 25 cm or above from ground level. The sensor will
not work properly when located at ground level.
• Motion sensor will not work if placed in a fully sealed cabinet (include glass /
clear cabinet).

Tray Lock shows in the
display and the tray can’t
be ejected.

• Press and hold

OPEN/CLOSE on the front panel for about eight seconds. Then

the tray can be opened/closed using

OPEN/CLOSE.

Problem

Remedy

The disc is ejected
automatically after
loading.

• Clean the disc and align the disc properly in the disc guide.
• If the region number on a DVD-video disc does not match the number on the
player, the disc cannot be used (see DVD Video regions on page 76). In this
instance, the following message appears on screen: Incompatible disc region
number
/Can’t play disc.
• Allow time for any condensation inside the player to evaporate. Avoid using the
player near an air-conditioning unit.

Playback not possible.

• If the disc is loaded upside down, reload the disc with label side face up.

Picture playback stops
and buttons cannot be
used.

• Press

 (stop), then  (play) to start playback again.

• Switch the power off once, then on again using the front panel

STANDBY/ON

button.

Settings are canceled.

• When the power is cut, settings will be canceled.
