Adjusting initial settings

Initial settings lets you perform initial set up of

different settings for this unit.

1 Function display

Shows the function status.

1 Press SOURCE and hold until the unit

turns off.

2 Press F and hold until function name

appears in the display.

3 Press F to select one of the initial set-

tings.

Press F repeatedly to switch between the fol-

lowing settings:

FM (FM tuning step)A-PI (auto PI seek)

WARN (warning tone)AUX (auxiliary set-

ting)DIMMR (dimmer)R-SP (rear output

and subwoofer controller)TEL (telephone

muting/attenuation)A-PLY (auto play)

D_ATT (digital attenuation)

# To cancel initial settings, press BAND.
# You can also cancel initial settings by holding
down F until the unit turns off.
# When the multi-channel processor (e.g., DEQ-
P7000) is connected to this unit, you can operate
D_ATT instead of R-SP.

Setting the FM tuning step

Normally the FM tuning step employed by

seek tuning is 50 kHz. When AF or TA is on,

the tuning step automatically changes to 100

kHz. It may be preferable to set the tuning step

to 50 kHz when AF is on.

1 Press F to select FM.

Press F repeatedly until FM appears in the dis-

play.

2 Press m or n to select the FM tuning

step.

Pressing m or n will switch the FM tuning

step between 50 kHz and 100 kHz while AF or

TA is on. The selected FM tuning step will ap-

pear in the display.

Note

The tuning step remains at 50 kHz during manual
tuning.

Switching Auto PI Seek

The unit can automatically search for a differ-

ent station with the same programming, even

during preset recall.

1 Press F to select A-PI.

Press F repeatedly until A-PI appears in the

display.

2 Press r to turn Auto PI seek on.

A-PI :ON appears in the display.

# To turn Auto PI seek off, press q.

Switching the warning tone

If the front panel is not detached from the

head unit within five seconds of turning off the

ignition, a warning tone will sound. You can

turn off the warning tone.

1 Press F to select WARN.

Press F repeatedly until WARN appears in the

display.
